This song is based on a personal experience of mine. To sum things up for you to understand the meaning of the song better I was with this guy and after we broke up we tried to do this friendship thing like before even though it wasn't the same. A week after our breakup he was telling me how he was going to mess with some other girl. He was telling me all the things he was going to say to her and that was when I realized this was all the stuff he told to me. Which made me question whether the relationship was serious or not.
